February 10th 2014 was a fun celebration of the Chinese New Year at the Museum of Chinese in America (MOCA). It was our first time working MOCA and we wanted to be sure to do a good job. The event turned out to be one of the most memorable photographic experiences of 2014. Great Chinese food from celebrity chefs Kian Lam Kho, Irene Khin Wong, and Pichet Ong. The atmosphere was festive, making it a spectacular space to photograph people, food, and environments.
There were other celebrities in addition to the chefs. Filmmaker Ang Lee was there enjoying conversation and signing a few autographs.
MOCA’s 2014 gala in December was fabulous too. Check that out here.
MOCA’s mission is to celebrate the living history of the Chinese experience in America, to inspire our diverse communities to contribute to America’s evolving cultural narrative and civil society, and to empower and bridge our communities across generations, ethnicities and geography.
Our friends at MOCA (Museum of the Chinese in America) reached out to cover their 2014 gala at Cipriani on Wall Street. This marked our second time working with MOCA so we were thrilled. Earlier this year we were present for their Lunar New Year event, which was completely fabulous. There was great Chinese food from notable chefs, art, plus new and familiar faces. We look forward to working with MOCA in the New Year.
PS: In case you were wondering, there are a few pictures of Bill Cunningham in the mix. Nice to be at the same place as that photography legend.
